Final Reflection
This final reflection paper should be a synthesis of the work
you completed and the content covered in class throughout the semester. It will
help you place your philosophy of teaching writers into perspective, which will
be important for creating and modifying teaching plans, providing goals and
objectives in job interviews, and for justifying your teaching methods and
content to both parents and administration. Write this essay as a
foundation for your teaching of literature.
Write an essay that draws on your experiences (classroom
observations, lesson presentations, narrative writing, discussions, etc.) in
conjunction with the readings from class. If you have other experiences with
teaching or other pedagogical theories that are relevant, feel free to address
those as well. You need to write about your beliefs as a teacher of writing, and
how you plan to enact those beliefs into your classroom.
Be sure to give examples and provide your reasoning (philosophy)
throughout your essay. Use examples from texts and articles used in class
to support your philosophy. Be sure to use in text citations following MLA
format as well as a Works Cited page.
Give your essay a title that reflects your
message.
